Tamron FotoVix

Amy Locklear , Apr 05, 2000; 09:53 a.m.

I'm interested in purchasing a Tamron FotoVix (preferably gently used). A Pro photographer friend tells me she purchased one on e-bay for $600 but because it's "old" technology, that seems a little high. Anyone have suggestions on other sources or what to look for when buying used? B&H used to carry them but I haven't been able to find one on their web site. Also, any input from users of this piece of equipment would be great. Thanks!

At our newspaper we've used a Tamron Fotovix III-s continually since March 1994. Apart from having to change the bulb in the light source I don't think we've had any major problems with it.

(We scan from 35mm colour neg film without making prints and use the Tamron to select the best pic on an ordinary TV - quicker than pre-selecting each neg in the neg scanner)

Well. I have one in near mint condition my father used but twice. It will come with the original cords and operating manual. I am asking only 70.00 plus shipping. Thanks and I hope I hear from you soon. Peter Wood

This is even dust free. Owned by a meticulous person.
