Crappy Photo For a reason by Christopher Martindale | 2014-10-19
Street

Banned In Woodburn: This is a bad photo posted for a reason. I was doing some street photography in Woodburn Oregon this evening. The store owner comes out and kicks me off telling me that "I could not photograph PRIVATE property". I left before he called the cops. Considering all the crud that is happening here (Drugs, gangs, domestic violence, the cartels) this is a dangerous place after dark.

I am posting this because I have a right to under UNITED STATES law.

Cerro El Vigilante - Sierra Baguales - Patagonia-Chile by Daniel Bruhin W. | 2014-10-20
Landscape

The Cerro El Vigilante is on the Sierra Baguales, on the border with Argentina. It is a private place and not many have seen this mountain. From near the top, one can observe the distant Torres del Paine mountain range. It is really a mysterious mountain range with plenty of photos oportunities.

I am not a huge fan of HDR, but every once in a while I find an image that I think it is well suited for. On a family outing last week we came across this man playing his glass jars for a small crowd in Old Town. The setting and the music made for a great atmosphere.

Rainbow colors by Theodor Dinulescu | 2014-10-20
Landscape

Last Saturday it was a beautiful fall day. Before the sunset, a lot of grey clouds covered the sky and a wonderful rainbow appears over trees. Despite the wind was blowing quite strong and the raindrops started to wet my camera, I could't live the place before taking this shoot.... I was very fortunate seeing the wonderful moment when the god was painting the forest !! Your comments are welcome too !

Many thanks, Theodor D.

March-October romantic arrangement II by Robert W. Pillow | 2014-10-20

I applied more contrast and saturation because the light was so flat in the shade. This is an earlier version with fewer leaves from nearby.

Seeking comment on color, composition and whether I should I apply more burning to the yellow in the middle.

Blowing Bubbles by Wayne Sadler | 2014-10-20
Macro

This morning I turned to see this wasp, my least favorite insect, about 12 inches from my face. As I jumped up ready to run for my life, I was stopped by curiosity as to what was coming from its mouth. It reacted to me but was slow so I figured it must be cold, sick or both. I rushed to get my camera and when I returned it was still there "blowing bubbles". The best explanation I could find for this behavior is that it is regurgitating nectar or the like. (Sounds right sense one of my hummingbird feeders is about 3 meters away.) I don't often get a good photograph of these insects (hard to hold the camera steady while running), so I took advantage of this situation. Comments and critique welcome.
