What kind of lens was used...

...to take this shot?

I already tried asking the person who took it but they are yet to reply. The exif data is hidden and I'm curious to know that too.

My 2 cents, Take the angles of the roof rack on the right and the blue can on the left. Average it out. It points to a lens with a field of view of about 35-40mm, give or take.

I agree with Tommy. Not too wide, but wide enough for the photo showing the stuff.

Small ziptop bags and pill-jars with no markings or labels always make me a bit suspicious. What is this supposed to be? It looks far too clean for street drugs.

The concept here looks like a 'picture of someone' + 'a picture of all the stuff in their pockets and car'

Looks like a normal to slightly wide lens to me, say 25 to 30mm on a APS-C sensor, 40 to 45mm on a full frame sensor.

Definitely not a 12mm as it lacks the tell tale signs. - distortion. Beyond that is is a rather pointless question due to the fact that it has been cropped.
Just about any "normal" lens could have taken this shot. Could have been anywhere between 18-about 130ish and then cropped as it appears now.
