Beseler enlarger trouble

Ryan Sweeney , Mar 21, 2010; 01:47 a.m.

Hello-
I recently acquired a Beseler 23C enlarger from my neighbor. Everything works fine except for one slight problem. When I place a negative in the negative tray, only about 3/4 of the picture is lit up brightly, while the other 1/4 on the left side of the frame is dimly lit, like not enough like is reaching it. When a print is made, the dimly lit 1/4 or left side of the picture comes out significantly lighter and washed out compared to the rest of the print. I tried twisting some knobs and tilted the bottom bellows around but nothing thus far has seemed to make a difference. I'm wondering is anyone has any idea what could be causing this, and how to correct it. Sorry if this question has been asked before. I searched but could not find an answer. Thank You
-Ryan

Edit* Nevermind. I figured out my upper bellows adjustment knob was broken or jammed and the enlarger head wasnt set on 35mm. I fixed it and all is well now.
