Would I be able to use the Sigma 17-70?
Also would I be able to use the Canon 60mm macro?
If anyone has managed to use either one or both, how have they performed? I expect the 17-70 to have some
vignetting, but where does it start? Thanks for your time.

No. The EF-S 60 macro won't mount and the Sigma 17-70 while it will fit, won't cover the full frame at the wide end.

Bob, please correct me if I'm wrong. I think the 60/2.8 would work in the macro range if mounted on an extension tube.

I was thinking the 12mm tube piece

The 60mm EF-S macro can be used via an EF 12 Mk II extension tube (or other EF-S compatible tube). Of course, the minimum magnification is 0.2 and there is no possibility of anything other than macro work. With the tube, vignetting is not a problem on a full frame body.

If you haven't bought the lens yet then opt for sigma DG series rather than DC series.
Sigma also do a rather terrific macro lens, the 70mm DG f2.8.

Or get the Canon 100mm Macro. It is the same as the 60mm would be on a crop, and one of the most versatile macro lenses Canon makes.
for the wide end, get the 17-40, and you're done for less than 1000 euros total...
