T90 foam replacement, where's the foam?

Mark Stephan , Nov 20, 2008; 08:12 a.m.

I replace the foam on most of my bodies myself and only send a camera off for repairif it has other problems. The foam cushion for one of my T90's needs to be replaced, as far as I can tell this is the only area of foam that I can find. Am I missing something? This would be a 5 minute fix if it only involves replacing the mirror cushion.

That's the only foam I've ever found on my T90.

There are two pieces of foam for the mirror damper.

There are two small pieces of foam on the back; one at the bottom left, and one near the red film leader indicator.

There is a foam seal around the window in the film door.

Generally the T90 uses close fitting labyrinth seals to stop light getting in - as do the EOS bodies.

So, the T90 is not quite foam-free.

Henry, thanks for the information. I'll start with the mirror cushion and if the door areas need it I'll replace it their too. I was unaware of the other areas as I could not see or find them.
