I can't beleive it

David Brown , Feb 21, 2008; 02:58 a.m.

I just heard something that has amazed me, this is not a joke.

The Archibald Prize is a very prestigious portrait painting comp here in Australia, you may have heard of it? Many well known and unknown painters enter and it is always controversial, the latest entrant will be doing his portrait of someone in his usual style! Which is that he holds his brush with his member! These are the words used by the news readers on the radio, can you brleive it, and these artists are probably the snobby ones who say photography is not art, I don't understand artists sometimes, can't wait to see how it turns out, it should be somewhat smudgy.

Have a stiff drink with a limp wrist and relax..... :-)

My wife just had a thought, what if he does not hold the brush but it is the brush? Hope its not a cold day or it could be a bit if a stretch!

I feel sorry for the subject...I imagine sitting for this pointer would be a bit...well...a bit...in your face.

His name is 'pric' casso. Unfortunately for us here in South Africa, the Aussie artist (and yes he uses it as the brush) did an exhibition (pun intended) at SEXPO - a sex expo for anyone interested. Owing to his unique technique, he had heaps of press coverage!

I have heard of this guy a while ago. Has anyone seen any of his work or have a link to one of his portraits? I am imagining his stuff looking like finger painting only with broader strokes ?

Anthony Brookes , Feb 21, 2008; 11:12 a.m.

His pictures don't sell so he's hard up.

Mark Allen , Feb 21, 2008; 11:13 a.m.

Gordon ... maybe the strokes aren't broader at all.

Pete Millis , Feb 21, 2008; 11:52 a.m.

The Aussie's are cool....anyone see "Puppetry of the Penis"?

Out of interest....if you had the choice of who to paint with your penis, who would it be, and why?

Gordon Bowbrick , Feb 21, 2008; 12:31 p.m.

Good point Mark. I was just assuming that if he had a pencil weenie he would not be painting with it in public.

Pete; yeah I have seen some clips of that on TV -- weird and funny stuff. I'm still waiting to see some vagina puppets..... could be a long wait.

I thinks I'd start off with a self portrait just until I got the hang of it.

Pete Millis , Feb 21, 2008; 02:24 p.m.

Gord, just for you.... vagina puppets.... http://www.yoni.com/loverf/vulvaintro.shtml unfortunately, they're not real like the penises in "Puppetry of the Penis". But...surprise, surprise...would you believe they're Australian!

Make sure you take some photographs of your self-portrait paintings and post them up!

This whole thread is starting to give me ideas....hmmmm, thinking about taking photographs with my penis... I heard that helmet cams are quite cheap now

Gordon Bowbrick , Feb 21, 2008; 03:59 p.m.

Pete,

You're killing me! I think the challenge is going to be holding the camera with your testicles and pressing the shutter with your penis at the same time.

BTW thanks for the link as well as the vagina painting link earlier. That is one of those times when a short skirt comes in real handy.

" Clarissa Pinkola" ? " soft, receptive" ? " encourage thoughtful dialogue" ?

I think I'm going to have to return to this later Pete.

Aussies you say... they must be putting something stronger than flouride in the water down there.

"From a child?s first question of 'Where do I come from?', Vulva Puppets are an invaluable tool for learning."

"Why, my child, you came from this plush puppet!"

"Mommy, I feel sick."

Peter Dove , Feb 21, 2008; 06:59 p.m.

One of those vulva puppets could make a good bed for Ellen van Deelen's rat. Apologies, Ellen. I'm sure your rat has more class than that.

I wonder if he needs Viagra?

David Brown , Feb 21, 2008; 10:46 p.m.

No No No there is nothing in the water here it is the heat, everything gets bigger and hangs lower in the heat so we invent different things to do in our spare time.

Pete are we trying to take photos with a point and shoot or a medium format camera, it adds to the challenge.

Lex I'm laughing to much to add to yours.
