Sorry if I don't have the time / patience to wade through the five pages of posts on the main forum renaming thread. But it was good to have a catch-all digital camera forum. IMO, a real problem with this change is that it forces some posts into a forum where they don't really belong, or into a forum that has an inherent bias, or to be double-posted. Examples:
* 'What are the pros and cons of a Canon T3i / 600D versus a Nikon D5100?'
* 'What are the pros and cons of a Nikon D3x versus a Mamiya kit with their low-end 22MP digital back?'
* 'At ISO 100 through 400, how much image quality am I giving up with one of the better-rated point-and-shoots versus a low-end DSLR?'
In other words, where the question concerns multiple, or generic, 35mm-style (either "full frame" or "APS-C") DSLR's, what forum is truly approproate? There no longer appears to be one.

If people don't know where to post Canon vs. Nikon and then decide not to post I just see it as just a great side effect of renaming the forum.

I'm one of many who always uses the unified forum, so it makes no difference where it's posted. Casual forum would
work. I'll still see the post.

This vs That is typically put into Casual Photo Conv these days.
Which is where I'm going to move this thread.

Josh, why not have a whole forum dedicated to this vs that threads? Seems like that would be serving your community pretty well. Just a thought.

I think the Nikon vs Canon questions should all be automatically referred to link.
Of course that would also have the advantage of the question having to be asked in such a way that a 'yes' or 'no' answer would serve. I think, on the whole, that would be an improvement.
Some of us have our feet in both camps, leading to a certain stress in the crotch region, of course.
Like Marc, I always enter from the Unified Page, so sometimes get uncertain as to where I end up anyway. People are always telling me where to go. :(

+1 Zach ... then I would be sure to avoid the silly things :-) My feet are in three camps at the moment.

I actually thought about making a "this vs that" forum a while back. But I never got around to it. Perhaps I should revisit the idea.

It depends on who you want to win.

* 'What are the pros and cons of a Canon T3i / 600D versus a Nikon D5100?'
There is an amazing amount of reviews that do this. I bought the D5100.
