Actually this is in Siena, not Lucca. See the campanille.

Hi Matt,

A good request. All the photos on this thread are outstanding and show the depth and clarity of medium format. I especially like the human side of yours, as it reveals life in more than just pictorial ways. Congrats to all.Hope to shoot with my 2.8D and join the fray soon.

damn, that's a thread with an awful lot of nice pics-

that portrait on APX 100(WJ?) reminds me why I shoot that in 120-I'll have to load some up.The night shot of the bridge (Allen Chen?) -nice-I'm not a big fan of color ,but the first pic is really nice(Mat?)as is the last one(Len?) and all the others -hope I got the names right-can't look back.

My only TLR chit the bed on me-looking for another-meanwhile I'll have to settle for some 6X6/6X9 folders

Not another self portrait? Yeah , but it's one of the few when I'm not dressed up in goofy clothes or making faces. The sculptured head was made by my wife Claudia of our older son, Marc. Most of my self portrait were done at the same oak table

damn,more nice shots-

CE- the ciro looks good- Efke 25-Yikes

Les, by the looks of that collar ,I'd have to say 80's shot.

My local camera shop is closing at the end of July. They have a dusty Rolleiflex and a cord hanging on the shelf with a couple of other TLR's up for sale.Guess I'll have to get a bid in.

Lester Gediman , Jun 23, 2005; 08:18 p.m.

This thread has shown a bundle of great photos. Bravo to you all. Wish I could master a scan that would show the razor-sharp detail in the self portrait print. Looks like a 4x5 contact print. I guessed at the decade so if the collar is a 80s give-away, then it's not the 2.8D Xenotar, it's my current 3.5E Planar

This thread has some great shots, superb quality - what is it about an image that originates on MF, when digitised (never mind printed) results in such superb tonality? You would think that the digitising process would conceal the quality of the original - there can only be so many pixels in a given file size, after all. I bet that if I took the same shot, on the same film type, with both a 35mm and a 6x6 camera, and scanned the two images on the same scanner to the same file size, the 6x6 shot would still stand out.

And this is why we use tlr's. Many of the shots in this thread are truly immense.

It also puts forward the question of why we dont have a TLR forum

Roman Sonnleitner , Jun 25, 2005; 08:17 a.m.

Miguel,

nice! Here are some vinyard pics I took with a YashicaMat (or was it the Rolleicord...?):
