Sunday walk with my Retina 1B (019) with Schneider Xenar 5 cm 2.8

Kenneth Wong , Oct 03, 2005; 11:53 p.m.

Took my 45 years old Retina IB and a roll of BW400CN out for a walk this Sunday. This little old machine with the 2.8 Xenar is just fascinating, and the results beats my daughter's US$500 digital camera.

Cheer!

Have problem in sizing images to upload. You can find the images at the following location.

I HATE the way yahoo prevents you getting out with the back button.

Whatever problems you have with uploading pics, the Xenars on the post-war Retinas are excellent lenses. I was amazed when I shot the first roll with my EUR 10 Retina (in need of severe repair, struts were misbent and shutter working occasionally).

The 1B is a nice camera with a very good viewfinder, a facility I rate as highly as lens quality.

These are very nice photos. I have the Retina 1b (not 1B) without a rangefinder but with the sharp Schneider lens too.

Kenneth,

Excellent work! My favorite is the police station picture. You gotta love those arches!
