Photos of Others using Classics

Cliff Manley , Sep 09, 2010; 04:03 p.m.

This is an open post for anyone to add their photos of others using classics.

Here Is my contribution. I was taking this guys picture because he was using an Ikon folder, when a cute girl walked past in some hot shorts and his tongue started hanging out. Either it must have been a long winter for him or his wife has a belly like him? This was taken last spring. I was also using an Ikonta A with Fuji Superia.

Funny, but I'll borrow this from one of my latest posts. My father after being reunited with his 1957 Diax L-1.

Pop again.

Good one Rob. This should get to be a large thread since literally everyone could post something here, even if they have to go through "The Ole Shoe Box" for a shot of someone with a brownie. Just make it a picture you took yourself, even if it was half a lifetime ago!

Or you could go out today with some classics, and take pictures of others holding or using them. It could be a good way of getting that pretty girl to let you take her picture. Don't tell her you want a picture of "HER", but rather that you are doing a piece on this camera and just need someone to "HOLD IT"..... It's all in the presentation !

Oh, Make sure you have some release forms with you and then later you will have a list of "street models" you can call. Just find a good fountain or wishing well in a park and wait for the models to show up. When someone asks how you find models, you tell them you don't, they come to you!

Using a classic and crutches at the same time is telling.

This thread is very timely since I just saw this character today. Some of the folks from the Canon FD forum may remember this pic - it was possibly the first picture I ever posted on this forum
In case anyone is interested this is Louis Mendes - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Louis_Mendes
He's a New York City character, has been profiled in the New York Times etc.

Awesome shot of Mr. Mendes.

Louis Mendes is quite the character. He showed up at last month's Andy Warhol birthday celebrations at the Gershwin Hotel.
Also documenting the party that evening was George Bonanno with his Graphic and flashbulbs. http://photoflashbulb.blogspot.com/

Dimas,
I'm so happy you joined. I read your bio and you're my kind of person. You see I also "vowed to DO what I can do, so life goes fair", not in so many words but in principal. Just imagine If everyone would DO rather than sit. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your pictures.

Here is another person using a classic. It is me in early January this year, embossed to make a good impression on others for all time, Well sort of. Ha Ha.
