I would like to say that if you are planning to move permanently to Costa Rica, go right ahead and do it. If you can speak fluent Spanish, it is an advantage. My company has had me on transfer in Puntarenas for the past six months and after a lot of hassling, I have managed to persuade them to give me a permanent contract there. I marvel at the beauty of the Pacific coast of Costa Rica and the climate is absolutely fantastic. It is definately not oppressive as some of you may have been wrongly told. I am writing this e-mail to you on the day before I leave England for Costa Rica. Costa Rica is as desirable a land as anyone could possibly wish for and as I said earlier, if you are thinking of moving to Costa Rica, do so as soon as possible.
Yours sincerely
Graeme Phillips
