About This Forum
There are some specific rules for the Deals and Discount forum on Photo.net.
This forum is for announcing, sharing, and discussion of coupons, sales, rebates and other deals or discounts that photo.net users come across for photographic (or related) gear. If you know of a deal, please post it here and share with the community.
In addition, there are a few things that users should NOT post:
- Please do not link to ebay auctions. While you may have the best of intentions, the possibility for abuse and self profit is simply too large to allow ebay links.
- Please do not link to illegal or pirated software.
- Please do not link or promote businesses where you have a personal interest or stand to gain from sales.
- Please do not use referral links that serve to earn money for yourself or anyone else.
- Linking to Craigslist or other "classified ads" will only be allowed on a case by case basis and typically only by users who have been around the site for a while. If you just signed up yesterday and try to post a "great deal I saw on craigslist" it is probably going to be deleted as you are probably just trying to promote your own ad.
Finally, this is the one forum on photo.net where users may see threads started by site sponsors regarding sales or discounts on their products. However, these threads will always be labeled as a sponsor message and will not be passed off as coming from an independent third party. There will also be a limit to the number of these ads that will appear at any one time. These companies support the site and help keep it running, so we are happy to offer them the ability to let our users know about especially good deals that they might be offering, but we also do not want to turn the forum into one giant Sunday paper sale flyer.
