Has anyone actually used the Canon wide and tele lens converters on this camera or the similar G9?
If so, what results(IQ wise) can be expected? Are there any image samples of the A650 with either or both converters? And are there any images as to just how this ensemble looks when put on the A650(or G9).
I recently asked a question as to a decision to purchase a A650 or G7. I decided on likely going with the A650IS. I currently have another dilemma now of either the A650IS or a G9. Seems that , other than for the RAW benefit of the G9, most other features(other than the obvious cosmetics)are quite similar.
Thanks for your comments.

It depends on what other features the camera has which are influencing your choice but personally I see no point in buying a camera with a medium range zoom and adding an adaptor len when you can buy a camera with even great zoom range. As far as getting a wider view my preference is to stitch two or more frames together to achive much wider view than adaptors.

I know that I could purchase a really nice longer zoom bridge camera, but at more expense than for the converters for this one. And, it's not likely I would use the converters all that often to further not substantiat that extra cost. So...if it's felt that my IQ would still be good when using the converters on a A650IS as without converters on that camera, that's the way I think I should go. But if the IQ is negatively affected with the converters, I'l likely forget about them.

If the adaptors are cheap then it is unlikely they will give you IQ to match the camera without them.
You will most likely find that the extra 'reach' is addictive and you will frequently use it :-)
