a) own
b) use regularly
c) any favorite (you have already used)
d) your current want list, if any
e) any cool cam(s) (current or discontinued) you like but aren't in the usual "must have" list
Thanks!

Just got my first small-sensor digicam today. It's a waterproof Sony TX10. Got it for a trip to the beach in Thailand for a few weeks in January. Don't want to take my big camera, but I do want to take some shots while I'm spending my afternoons snorkeling and swimming.

a) Powershot G7 and an old Fuji model
b) G7, finds lots of use
c) G7 (haven't really used a more recent one)
d) depends on travel plans for next year(s): Powershot G13 (or whatever it will be called), perhaps an SX-40 or similar because of the tele reach.
e) none at the moment but didn't Mamiya make a .. oh, no small sensor. Otherwise just curious what Canon will come up with wrt MILC/EVIL. (hoping for full frame. not impossible since Canon often chooses to do things opposite of Nikon).

b) They are mostly special purpose like computer software; not necessarily used frequently but must have when an application calls for it.
c) DSC-V3, DSC-F828
d) no
e) DSC-R1

I have 4, although I usually sell the older ones as they're replaced.
I most often use the Canon S90 because of its small size, although I prefer the G12 if I am wearing a jacket with larger pockets. I still have a G10 that I may get converted to IR.
In the car I keep a Ricoh GX100. Speaking of which, I should charge that battery! It's been in there for months.
My wish list includes the Canon S100, but not at current prices.
I occasionally look at weather proof point-and-shoots, but I really like to shoot raw files. I'll wait patiently......

Have, use and carry around the Panasonic Lumix LX5. My regular cameras are Canon 1DMkIIn's which I use for my newspaper shooting most every day. I carry the LX5 in my shirt pocket or in a waist hoder like a cell phone. Small, the image quality is very good. The f/2.0 24mm wide end is very handy for city council meetings and such. The wide aperture is good for low light work. The 90mm long end is just right for a lot of people photos including portraits. The fact it is not seen as a 'pro camera' helps a lot at times.
It is light, quick to operate and the image quality is fine for what I do.

a) own

8. Just sold off a couple and gave away two others.

b) use regularly

Two.

c) any favorite (you have already used)

Lumix LX-3, Fuji 200 EXR

d) your current want list, if any

Fuji X10, maybe a Canon S100. Just got the Lumix LX-5, it's sitting wrapped under the tree.

My ancient Nikon Coolpix model 990 with articulating lens housing allowing eye level, waist level and overhead (parade) viewing. Also the macro mode works well. From what I've read this camera was popular for commercial and scientific use. Not bad for a 14 year old 3.4 MP camera with a stiff original price.

> a) own

Panasonic ZS7; Minolta S414 is with somebody else.

> b) use regularly

0.

> c) any favorite (you have already used)

Minolta S414 was just great at low|native sensitivity (JPEG output, possibly TIFF too), though needs damn too much battery power.

> d) your current want list, if any

Fuji X100, though somebody else will have to pay for it. But really, I would rather get a Sony Nex 7 & the Sony AF adapter for Minolta A mount lenses.

> e) any cool cam(s) (current or discontinued) you like but aren't in the usual "must have" list

Minolta RD-175, A2(00); Sony R1; possibly other APS-C or larger sensor cameras.
