Epson R2400 or R2880

Michel Leclerc , Jul 02, 2008; 08:49 a.m.

Hello,

is the Epson R2400 still a good buy with the rebate over the R2880. I'm planning to use it mostly for B&W and to make digital negatives. Is the new K3 vivd ink and advanced B&W mode worth the price?

Thanks!

both have the advanced bw mode, same size, same paper option..so for that one or the other will do.

the k3 vivid ink give subtle difference of color image that have lot of majenta like a portrait, having made some test on my epson 4800 vs a 7880, i would not say the difference is crucial.

The newer epson have the ability to print on CD, to be plug on 2 computer at once...if you dont need those extra features, and if you save money on the 2400..go for it your eye closed for sure.

Stick with the 2400, not much change between the inks. Nothing like the difference between the epson inks and Canon 12 color system.
