Why Can't I Import NEF into Lightroom Anymore?

Jaime Hill , Feb 03, 2009; 09:56 a.m.

I have Lightroom 2 and CS4. (I am still learning both programs).
When I first got my Nikon D90 I was shooting in RAW (NEF) and opening them in Lightroom 2, no problem. Then two days ago I could only import a couple pictures off my card. Now it won't allow me to import any NEF files. If I shoot in jpg (on the same card) I can open the jpg file in Lightroom. If I shoot and save in BOTH jpg and NEF...neither picture will open in Lightroom.
Is something corrupt? I tried two different cards...so I don't think it is the card. Could it be my camera?

could NX open them? what error message do you got?

Are you importing through the camera or card reader?
When you take a pic, does it show up in folder at all?
I suppose you know you have to "import" them in Lightroom.

Ya...I can open the files in Capture but not Lightroom 2. (I have the trial version of Capture)
I downloaded the update, 2.2, and that seems to work now! Phew! I hope it isn't a fluke and that was all it "needed".
Thank you so much!

As I answered in your other thread on this subject Lightroom 2.0 did not support the D90. the software was released before the camera was. Lightroom 2.2 does support the D90 as you have found out.
