30D, Hot Pixels and Lightroom 2.4

Phil B , Jul 04, 2009; 11:39 p.m.

I turned off my long exposure noise reduction a while back but didn't have the opportunity to see results till shooting this evening's fireworks. As I imported my 30D shots into LR 2.4, a dozen or so hot pixels were showing up in the previews. As the 1:1's fully loaded, the hot pixels disappeared. Is this a recent feature in LR? I can't recall having ever read or heard that the program removes hot pixels. Camera calibration was set to Adobe Standard.

LR has done this since version 1.x.

Thanks Roger. Apparently someone hasn't been paying attention. Was a pleasant surprise, tho.

The Camera Raw RAW conversion engine has done hot pixel removal in every revision I've used since 2003. Lightroom shares the RAW conversion engine with Camera Raw.
