Importing to Lightroom

Dave DeJoy , Mar 21, 2010; 12:25 p.m.

I am new to Lightroom (version 2.3). When I import images from my Canon G-10, the images in the preview show up as upside down. If instead I use the software that came with the camera, they are rightside up. Any insights appreciated.

How do they look after the import, in the Library window?
LR will render new previews during or immediately after import. If those turn out correct, then there's nothing to worry.

How do you have the G10 set up? There is an option to either turn the pics or not when you export them to a PC - make sure that you have automatic rotation set to "on".

Thanks for the responses. Yes, the auto rotate is on. There is a note in the manual that states: Even if the auto rotate function is set to [on], the orientation of the images downloaded to a computer will depend on the software used to download the images (p. 225).
