I have a Macbook Pro, CS5, and a Canon Pro 9000 Mark II. I am trying to print 11X14 for a portfolio...
I always get a 1/8" border all the way around even when I click "borderless", etc. I have tried everything.
Suggestions? Please, and thank you.

I don't know specifically about Canon, but many printers will only print borderless images on certain kinds of paper. Check what paper is selected in the program/setup if you are using paper that is supposed to work.

I tried...no luck. : (
The paper I am using (Inkpress Luster) isn't listed...

Hi Robert,
I'm using a Canon Pixma Pro 9500 on my MacBook Pro with CS5 and no problems.
Are you sure you don't have an oversize background in CS5?

What do you mean by an oversize background? Should I just re-crop it?
On a related note, when I print on 8.5X11" paper I get a true bleed....it's just happening on the 11X14".

are you sure the printer is capable of printing boarderless on 11x14 paper? Just because it's capable on one size doesn't mean it is on others.

If it's not available in that size, it probably won't give you the option.
Have you downloaded and installed the latest Canon driver for your OS?

Latest drivers on everything...
I think one of the problems is that 11X14" is not one of the main pre-installed paper sizes in their drivers/software. To print that size, you have to create a custom size...

I own a Pro 9000 MkI and have never found 11x14 Canon paper for it. A quick check of Canon's site doesn't list any either, but I may have missed it. I guess Canon would rather sell you 13x19 paper if you want anything larger than 8.5x11. So it is possible that the driver doesn't recognize 11x14. One possible solution might be to buy 13x19 paper, print to a full 11x14 size and trim it down.

Deep in the Mac's Library/Printers/PPDs/ directory ....... is a configuration file for the Pro9000 that specifies a (reasonably large) set of precise page widths and borderless print settings for the paper sizes that Canon has predetermined will work with the Pro9000. The paper size you specifiy in the driver is copied from there into the CUPS system inside the system Library. 11"x14" isn't one of preset paper sizes. FWIW I have tried to change the settings for a different paper size without any luck! BTW - that's not a job for the feint-hearted: you need to get into some risky OS territory.
The suggestion of printing an 11x14 on A3 and trimming is probably the simplest solution.
