Hey Guys.
I have an old R2400 and im getting tired of buying Epson Ink for it since the price went up again. Whats the best cost effective ink I could buy w/o losing the quality of the Epson Inks? thanks.

I use www.inkjetfly.com and really like them. They do provide profiles for some papers, but ultimately you should profile on your own when going down this road.

I know this will probably generate some flak, but if you buy a quality printer from Epson, why would you consider a 3rd party ink, when Epson inks have such a good reputation? If ink price is of a major concern, why not invest in a larger Epson with larger (and cheaper ink cost pr ml) ink tanks. Many on the web indicate that their clogging problems probably emerge when they started using 3rd party inks...
Just curious - I have no commerical interest in Epson or their inks...

Well, lets put it this way.....
I have an Epson 1400. I set of genuine inks is over 125. That is 6 ml * 6 carts. That is 3.50 per ml. The cost for the 2400 will be lower, but still way too high.
I buy IJF ink in 100ml bottles of (x6) for (dye) 53 and (pigment) 87. Thats 9 cents / ml and 14 cents / ml respectively.
When you consider the replacement ink is of high quality (I will attest from personal use), it's hard to ignore the cost savings.
I have been using replacement inks in my 1400 for 4 years. I have just replaced my 1400 with another over a paper sensor fail. It was just cheaper to replace it than to fix it. No sign what so ever of damage due to non epson ink. A friend of mine has a 3800 and my prints hold water with his.
I think Exon is in the wrong business... ;)
