Emulating film in raw files

Hi. Has anybody tryied the vsco film or tlr the light's right program to emulate film ? I' ve heard about them and could be interesting, as they work on raw files. Can anybody share his experience ? Bye.

i use Lightroom and emulate what i need there. If i really need something else, there Nik Silver Effex or Color Effex that also do a good job, but they dont work on raw file i think.. cant say because i normally export my well develop image as TIF in Photoshop prior to use any kind of filter (when i use them.. witch is pretty rare).

There's so much that can be done with the conventional tools we have (e.g. in PS) that I wonder why additional software would be needed to create film looks. You'd be amazed what you can do by playing around with contrast curves, particularly by creating shoulders and toes on otherwise linear functions. If you want to emulate film, you need to start by understanding how film behaves. This is a good start:
