Winter is clearly here associated with snow and the colour of white. Global warming has already changed that perspective for many of us. The pics go however beyond the traditional "winter" images and present winter scenes where low light is the theme. Low light, mist and fog is often associated to moods of depression and yet we have whole artistic schools in painting that have been based on it in order to represent a romantic view of life. The German Romantic school o the 19th century was based on that view of nature, history and human conditions (f.ex. Arnold Bocklin, Casper David Friedrich).
I would therefore have chosen a less traditional selection of winter images: Winter images without snow !! for example. I add an example from my amateur portfolio with snow only at a distance.
