failure to access

My image pro site is robert100.photography.com

I am encountering a HUGE problem. roughly 50 percent of the people i give that address to are unable to get into the website. instead of taking them to my website, the browser somehow only takes them to the "imagepro DIRECTORY" page, which obviously then stumps them, they never do get into my website and see the images

The most mysterious thing is, it doesn't always "fail", some people it works for, some it doesn't.

I haven't set this site up as a hobby, I set it up as a business tool, I make my income from the sale of my art and photos, and this is a MAJOR problem right now as it has not only embarrassed me with people I am trying to do business with, once it has failed to let them directly in, they then are blocked out forever, as their browser "remembers the bad address and goes there forever after"

How do i cure this ?

I myself was able to go right to the page when I entered robert100.photography.com.

However, are you sure you are telling them to go to "robert100.photography.com" and not "www.robert100.photography.com"? If they try to go to "www.robert100.photography.com" they would probably get sent to the default directory page as that is a significantly different URL.

I've asked the programmers to work their magic, and now http://www.________.photography.com addresses will forward to the proper http://_________.photography.com URL.

FWIW: latest Firefox, no www, with and without 'http://', Robert's link took me to the directory page just now. Likewise with the latest IE and also using my own IP site: balko.photography.com. Interestingly, at work this afternoon when I first read this post, IE (don't know which version) took me directly to my IP page.

I just encountered the same problem. Upon typing http://denniszaebst.photography.com, on two different computers, running Firefox 9.0.1, instead of loading my imagepro web site, I just went to the directory page. I have my url (denniszaebst.photography.com) on all of my business cards, and now it doesn't work. It did work just fine until late this afternoon. Something is definitely amiss.
What's the solution?

It does exactly the same thing (takes me to the directory page) in Internet Explorer 9.

OK, just tried www.denniszaebst.photography.com, and that works, i.e. takes me to my site. typing the URL without www does NOT work any longer.
Are you going to leave it as it is now, or fix it so either URL will work?

Just now tried it, and it still doesn't load without using the www. It does load WITH the www. I will monitor the situation for a while, assuming it might take a while to filter down.

By the way, thanks a stack for the brilliant image-pro web site builder. Love the Cool-Iris slide show facility.

It does work for me. Without the www. My thought is that your browser has cached the old redirect. Please try flushing the cache, and restarting your browser.
