Hello
I would get a Rodenstock lens "Digaron W-50mm f / 4", with a Rollei-electronic shutter of size 1 (speed 1/500).
My problem is that I want to use this lens with a computer shutter control (drived with a program).
I didn't a topic on the Rollei e-shutter...
I know there is a control box Rollei, which controls the shutter speed and the trigger, but I don't know if it's possible to do this from a computer program.
Anyway, I will not buy this shutter if I cannot drive it myself. Maybe there are other shutters with same performances wich could work well. (Advices and discussions are welcome)
Does anyone have experience with Rollei e-shutter?

It would probably be easier to do this with the new Rodenstock eShutter which is controlled by an iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. We sell both in any case.

Hi Bob,
You're right it would work easier, and I'm also interested in this solution.
However, I try to work with a Size 1 shutter, with fastest speed possible.
I know only the Rollei e-shutter in size 1 (electronic, speed 1/300s).
Do you have an idea?

Hi Bob,
I've studied the Rodenstock e-shutter a little better.
Do you know if it can be trigged by an electrical TTL signal (not from the USB connection)?
I've a specific synchronisation controller, that I 'd like to use.
I mean hard trigg is better than soft trigg.. so that..

Great, can you have it?
Ho, and is it provided with SDK software, or is it proprietary? Like I said, I'd like to drive it with my own program..

The Rodenstock shutter can be totally controlled from an iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch so there really shouldn't be any reason why you couldn't rig up a different release system. The software to operate it will be a free download at the App Store at Apple.
Will your software interface with the iPhone?

Not really, I'd like to create a computer drive, to make synchronized shots with a sensor detection (like motion sensor). Also with repeatability, and all automatized.
-> software configuration (aperture/speed), calculated from a light sensor.
-> hardware trigger (electrical), from a motion sensor.
What do you think?

All it taakes to fire an electronic shutter is a pulse. So triggering any of them should not be a proble, Triggering them at the right point might be a problem but you can work with the X synch in the camera and the shutter to ensure that the blades are fully open when you need them to be.
Setting the aperture and shutter speed is very easy with the iPhone App. How you could work that into your computer is not something I can tell you.
You can also hook the shutter up to your computer (Windows or MAC) via USB and control it that way as well.

Hi,
I didn't know about the X-synch system. With what I've seen, that's a simple trigg interface, just to do what I need. Is it really that? (that's difficult to find info on it)
In case, It seems that it's THE shutter I want.
Bob, thank you very much for your help.
