Epson R-D1 Shifting Framelines?

John Mali , Nov 20, 2009; 04:36 p.m.

Hey guys, I just recently picked up one of these awesome cameras, but just started noticing that my framelines are shifting diagnally when i focus... is this normal? The framelines never leave the viewfinder, so I'm thinking parallax compensation, but the movement is rather drastic. I guess I'm wondering how much they should be shifting, if at all.

Thanks!

Totally normal John. Short RF base designs that have parallax correction, makes the movement more pronounced.

If I'm not mistaken, it even corrects for lens breathing. (As you focus a lens closer, the image enlarges slightly, changing ever so slightly it's focal length)
