Hasselblad older extension tubes

Hjalti Jakobsson, Jan 24, 2008; 03:02 p.m.

Hi all.

First of all thanks a lot for all the useful information on this site. However, I could not find an answer to my question about the older extension tubes. I ordered the 10mm extension tube for the Hasselblad V series but now I've been browsing and what I've read is that the 10mm doesn't fit the 501C which I use.

Can anybody tell me if it fits?

Thanks.

I got the old 10mm on a 500CM, so I can't think why it would not fit the 501C.

The only Hasselblad extension tubes that will not fit are the 20 mm and 40 mm versions for Hasselblad 1600F/1000F (+ those for the H-system). Any 8, 10, 16, 21, 32, 55, 56 mm extension tube will fit your 501C.

Arghh, I was wrong, I tested it. The 10 mm ring will not fit more recent cameras with the wider release knob. But you can make it fit by using a file or a dremel tool to remove a little of the outer rim of the 10 mm tube. No problem at all. I did something similar with my older style bellows.

Thanks a lot!

Hi again.

I just received the adapter today and it does indeed fit. Maybe it's because I have 501C so it might not fit the 501CM.

Thanks.
