yashica-a, magnifying snafu

I am new to medium format and am already frustrated. It's a rental and it did not come with a manual, but I managed to find some helpful info online. My question has to do with the magnifying glass. I pushed the door and the magnifying glass popped out, but then the door went all the way down and closed over the view finder and I cannot get it to pop back out.The manual I printed offline makes it look like this is normal, but I still can't get it to come out o_o it mentions a button, but it does nothing. Please help D:

Push the little button at the bottom right of the hood. It will release the door.

It moves slighty forward to release.

I did, it didn't do anything, as in it did not release the door.

Maybe the locking tab didn't go inside the little hole in the "door", but behind it, so the "door" got stuck?
