Hello
Can someone please explain the differences between the Rollei Integral 1 (6008i) and the Rollei Integral 2?
They seem to be selling for quite a difference in price.
Thanks

The majority of the I2s for sale are virtually new. If you trust sending your money to HK.
The I2 is essentially the AF version without auto focus.
Some guy just dumped his Rollei collection on eBay. Sold for pretty good prices. A few PQ and PQS lenses.

Hi,
Rollei 6008 I2:
- 3rd generation electronics,
- flash under-exposure correction (6008i: over-exposure only),
- flash: SCA3000 instead of SCA300 system
- LCD finder display w/ 6x4.5 format indicator portrait/ landscape for magazine 4560 (6008i: LED, 4560 compatibility, but no format indicator),
- 100% Digital Back compatibility (6008i: certain serial numbers only),
- configuration partly via menu, all functions via cable & MasterWare software (hard to get; 6008i: via separately sold Master Control Unit only)
- charger G (6008i: older charger generations)
- switch "special function" in chrome (6008i: black)
Regards
Klaus

Ferdi
That's amazing!
Thanks so much.
By the way, the only thing that still bugs me is what Klaus said: "third generation electronics"
What does that mean and how important is it?
Thanks

Klaus refers to the system board. During the lifetime of the 6000 system the board had a number of major updates called generations. Counting from the left the third digit of the serial number indicates the engineering level of the camera or the generation of the system board. "3" came before the AF was introduced. All 6008 cameras that can take the 4560 magazine have 3 or higher. Looking at the much more modern features I would expect the AF and i2 to have a higher engineering level than 3. I have never handled one so I do not really know. Maybe an owner could check the serial number.
The coded serial numbers are explained here: http://www.rolleigraphy.org/rolleiflex_userinfo.htm#code

In day to day use the biggest difference will be LEDs or LCD in the viewfinder. Try both before you buy either one (I'm with the LEDs).

Congratulations Ferdi, for making such a comprehensive chart. I would like to add 2 cents here:
1. I am not sure if the master control unit can be used with the I2 or AF. I have never tried it though I have it. The AF or I2 requires a software installed on your computer and a special cable to connect to your camera for control and programming.
2. an earlier version of integral has (as far as I can remember, not 100% sure) an unremovable pressure frame on the body for 6x6 so that the 4560 adapter cannot be attached.
3. car battery lead can actually be used with the I2 or AF, if you can find the DC adapter. but this thing was already out of production when they launch the AF. This DC adapter looks like a normal battery with internal electronics that can turn 12 - 18 V DC to the standard 9.6V usable by the camera.
i will try to post a photo of the AF with this adapter later.
Cheers,
Tak

*ALL* 6008 integral have the removeable film frame, but *some* early samples (check Ferdi's post) need a software update to work with the "new" 4560 magazin. This used to be done free of charge at Braunschweig (and I have seen several 6008 integral with a 1 or 2 accepting the 4560 magazine), better ask questions first, mail camera later.

I don't remember who said so, but somebody claimed all the "goodies" that can be "programmed" with the master control integral unto the 6008 integral are built into the 6008 integral.2. Sales propaganda and manual for the 6008 integral.2 may be downloaded here: http://www.rolleiflexpages.com/6008AF.html I'd have ti read the papers myself ;-)
