Photo.net Contributor Legend

ADMINS Photo.net Admin

Photo.net Administrators (also called Admins) are the people who run the backend of Photo.net. They chase down problems, program new features, create site policy, and deal with abuse reports. Admins typically have years of experience on the site and have watched it grow from just a few photography loving eccentrics to the robust community that it is today. If you are looking for clarification on policy or need help with an area of the site, these are the guys who you should listen to. The best way to reach one of them is to use the Contact Photo.net form or to post in the Site Feedback forum.

MODERATORS Photo.net Moderator

Photo.net Moderators (also called Mods) are the people who keep the discussions humming in the photo.net forums. Moderators are dedicated volunteers responsible for one or more of the forum areas on the site. They answer questions, fuel discussion, offer expertise, remove off-topic or abusive content, and refer problems to admins. Moderators, like Admins, typically have years of experience on the site and are deeply knowledgeable about photography.

Photo.net thrives when users are active and engaged with the site. We like to acknowledge site members who have been particularly active over the past three months by placing this icon beside their names. The number of film canisters (or batteries if you prefer digital), from one to three, indicates that member's relative level of site activity during the past three months. If you would like to have this icon display beside your name, you simply need to post and contribute frequently in the forums and gallery.

HEROES Photo.net Hero

Members with hero icons have put an enormous effort into contributing to the site making it a better place for others to develop their photography expertise. Heroes are chosen on a case by case basis. Some of the heroes have put great effort into teaching other members by answering their question in a thoughtful way. Others have volunteered by moderating, writing articles or working regularly with the full time staff. We realize the selection process is not perfect, so there may be people who have been overlooked. If this is the case please let us know. The hero icon is designed to thank these individuals for all the time and effort they have put into making photo.net a better learning environment for others and to give them the credit and recognition they deserve.
