After reading some favorable posts about the Maxxum 9xi I finally got one a month or two ago. I'm really amazed at its capabilities. One of my favorite lenses to use with it is my Tamron 24-70 f3.3-5.6. It balances well and performs well. A few images from the last week.

I posted a similar shot last year from my Olympus XA, but thought the wider perspective of the 24mm end of the zoom might be even better. I braced the camera on the railing to steady it. I used Fujicolor 800 for all shots.

Great quality, Mike. The church image is beautifully atmospheric. More and more, I'm rediscovering older Tamron lenses.

I recently purchased a 9xi date body. Came with a bunch of cards, a couple lenses, and a flash, but its the accessory I bought later that really makes it a peach: the intervalometer card. What a handy tool! I used it mounted on a tripod Christmas morning to capture present-opening, without having to constantly be taking pictures myself. I developed and scanned the negatives, and it made quite a nice time-lapse slide show. Of course I had to take a FEW pics myself. Caught in the act even... :)

Thanks Rick and Wolfeye for your kind comments and for helping to keep this forum active.
Wolfeye- have a NIB intervalometer card for my 9xi that is leftover stock from my family's camera shop. I've been meaning to try it out.

The intervalometer card is a neat add-on, one of the few cards truly worth having. Even then, it's a specialized item that you need to have a purpose in mind to use it, otherwise it'll sit around and never get used.
Minolta as a company is an interesting entity. I was a 100% Minolta user up until near the end, and when they were insanely lethargic in getting their first DSLR to market I jumped to Canon. To this day I can't believe they are gone - all due respect to Sony - and wish they were still around making those great film cameras.

Another advantage is the 1/300 second x-sync. Great for daylight fill flash.
