Best Stop Digital : Avoid them at all cost!

If you are considering buying from these people .... please read on. I ordered an Olympus C-2500L, an additional 64mb Samrt Media card, a Smart Media adapter, an UV filter, extra Nimh batteries, the Olympus camera bag, Olympus wide-angle and telephoto lenses. Problem 1: after agreeing on a total price incl. s&h I was charged an additional $19.95 for s&h Problem 2: The bag was a nylon no-name bag instead of the Olympus leather bag. I was charged almost $60. You can buy a similar nylon bag at Walmart for $10 Problem 3: The batteries don't even have a brand on them. I am sure I oaid way too much Problem 4: The lenses turned out to be "Titanium" brand instead of Olympus. I actually tried one and about 60% of the picture becomes blurred. They are junk. I faxed them my concerns .. no response. I called them ithin their return period posted on their website and they said I called too late. Asked about my fax they simply stated they don't care about faxes and that you jave to call ...... I ended up using my credit card company to get the money for the lenses back. Problem 5: The 64mb Smart Media card just went dead on me (this is now 6 weeks after the sale). I called ... the usual story ... many attempts, on hold forever, many times diconnected after being on hold for 30-45 minutes. Finally told there is no warranty on the memory card ( I spent $170!). Should go to www.sandisk.com. Did that, found phone number, called SanDisk. They were very friendly but as the memory card has no brand name on it (did BestStopDigital remove it?) SanDisk needs an invoice or some other documentation that it is actually a SanDisk card. Well, the invoice I received from BSD does not give the brand in the item description. So, tried to call BSD again, and again, and again. Got disconnected every single time. If you press one on their voice menu o reach sales (trying to talk to anyone, basically) I was told they would put me through to cutomer service. Guess what, same story ... on hold ... disconnected

There is more to this story but I believe why I am suggesting not to ever buy from these "people". Please beware!!

The Digital Dog is also not a good place to order from. I ordered a $1200 digital camera, plus $600 in accessories for it. I even called shortly afterward to confirm the order. Now it's been 3 weeks. I keep calling, and they keep telling me it's on its way, but won't give me a tracking number (they tell me they'll email the tracking number but don't). This morning, I was told that the shipment of cameras they received was damaged, and that they would get a new shipment Monday, that they would upgrade my shipping to overnight for free and I would get it by Wednesday. Who wants a bet I won't get it then either? If I don't I'm cancelling the order. Beware! Whenever you order something online, use a reputable credit card company like American Express or Citibank, so that if something goes wrong, they will take care of it for you.

Digital Dog ripped me off for 400 dollars with the same story they told J.Anderson ,except my camera was part of a damaged shipment they were sending back to Japan. They billed my credit card and never had my camera (Olympus 490Z)in stock ,when I call the customer service number they just put me on hold for 30 minutes then disconnect.I have been lied to every time I call the sales number (they always answer that )I have talked to the Manhattin district attorney's office and they are investigating it. Please email me if you have been a victem also and I will pass it on to the DA. Thank You , Joe Rossi jr565@hotmail.com
