Nikon D70 & PictureProject 1.0: selecting certain photos to download?

I've tried D70's manual and PictureProject 1.0's manual to find how, if there is any way, one can select only certain photographs from a CF card to download from the D70 into PictureProject. If I have 150 photos on the card, how can I select, say, 10 to download into the computer into PictureProject 1.0? Can I select ones that are not next to each (discontiguous)? Just ones from certain dates? Just having a distinct folder active in the D70 does not seem to select only that folder for download. I've not found a selection mechanism in the PictureProject software itself. Is Nikon Capture 4.1 significantly more flexible in this regard? Is there other software that performs this function better = more flexibly?

There is an update to 1.01 that i read to allow drag and drop of images into the explorer. that might solve you problem.
