Nikon Capture NX2--Selection Tools

I am trying to remove a straight stick from a nature shot and cannot get any of the Selection Tools in Capture NX2 to do it for me. Auto Retouch brush will remove it in steps, but I still get fill that looks like I just removed something. I have tried some other tools but with no luck. Any suggestions as to what tool(s) I need for removal and then fill? Joe Smith

Try altering the size of the auto retouch brush, and including different amounts of the surrounding image. The more complex the surrounding area, the harder it's going to be for the software to synthesize an even background.

Do the retouch at 100% view and adjust the brush to fit. Just put it on the spot and click.
