My Bathroom Renovation: A little random and not entirely off-topic

Joshua Tench , Feb 08, 2012; 07:42 a.m.

Hi all,

I'm mid bathroom renovation and after after a little bit of external guidance and assistance to get what I see as one of the main features right.

So far id call the style ultra modern / minimalist considering the building is circa 1950's and the bathroom is tiny! Black tiles (floor & wall), stainless steel hardware, black & white bench top, oak vanity unit, white toilet/basin and red towels.

My last major decision is to find the right photo that will make the whole room POP! The photo will be printed on a translucent adhesive vinyl film and applied to a sliding glass panel that is 2209 x 600mm (7ft+ x 2ft) and acts as part-time shower screen, part-time privacy screen for the loo.

I've had so many ideas and I know I've got some great photos somewhere but haven't had enough time to chase them down. I'm willing to pay good money for the right pic but it must be timeless, tasteful (should I need to seek or rent I'd hate to limit my market), high resolution (4000px minimum on the vertical) and enhance the space.

Let the ideas flow...

Hooray! At last, someone who knows the difference between a basin and a sink!
But I can't help with the picture though!

i renovated my master bedroom last year, super slick and minimalist, paint is neutral gray, the bed side table and main darwer are pale birch wood.. i have no curtain, only white horizontal blind (correct word in english?) ... dark brown floor. simple a la Wall Paper magazine kind of inspiration.. so i have made a huge 4x4 feet plexi mount image of pink / red tulip .. that make a statement in that room ; )

I'd say a guy with an umbrella running over a puddle in the pouring rain in NYC would be ideal for a shower screen, except that it's vertical, so I guess not! :)

Our house and bathroom are too old and rustic to work with a contemporary image I think (and I'm trying to build a second bathroom as well), but if I had a modern space it might see an eclectic image like this one:

although an eventual buyer may or may not agree.

This picture was taken through a shower screen.

Today's your lucky day! I just happen to have the perfect photo for the loo...and if that doesn't tickle your fancy, I think this type of digital art would look good and timeless on a shower/loo door.

Looks as if all the linked suggestions are by those that may need a prostate exam. Yikes!
