Unwatchable, unlistenable, unviewable ads...

Sanford Edelstein , Feb 10, 2012; 11:00 p.m.

Any internet page with the "Wash Your Mac" spinning beach ball; any radio ad that repeats the 800 number three times in a row; any radio ad where they remove the breathing spaces between sentences so they can squeeze in a few more words; anything with Conan O'Brien.

Anything from a speaker on a gas pump at a service station.

Car dealers screaming and very young toddlers mumbling about the family business.
One of the all time worse ads- HEADON! Apply directly to the forehead- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f_SwD7RveNE

On the flip side, I LOVED the FIAT 500 Super Bowl Commercial with guy staring at the hot babe. ooolala ;-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cpi2IAec9Ho
"What are you looking at, Uh?
What are you looking at? (slap)
Are you undressing me with your eyes?
Poor guy…you can't help it?
Is your heart beating? Is your head spinning?
Do you feel lost thinking that I could be yours forever? (Nods)"

Oh, and how could I have forgotten, those ads that sneak up from the bottom of the screen on my T.V.

Most cretinous ads in the UK are the TV ads for the chain optician Specsavers - these are apparently directed at senior citizens but portray these as morons - in one case, an elderly couple sit down on a fairground switchback without realizing what it is to eat their sandwiches - even after the ride comes to end, they still don't realize what they have been on. Another shows a shepherd who not only has poor eyesight but is also presumably halfwitted, and shears his sheepdog along with several sheep because he can't tell the difference. Some of these young advertising people are amazing - they can sniff coke with one hand, play with themselves with the other and still write ads!

Right on, Daniel! I always try to get to one of the few pumps that don't have one of those @#$% boxes.

Any TV commercial:
Using the phrase "As seen on TV" or "But wait! There's more!"
For a car dealer
With Smiling Bob, or the scrawny idiot who sells Slap Chops.
For hair restoration products.

Actually, I'm not sure there is a commercial out there that doesn't fit the category. One of the joys of DVR is being able to record a program and fast forward through the junk when you watch it.

NETFLEX! How do they continue to bypass my every effort to stop popups.

TV--just about all of it
Political adds--both US parties
The NPR reporter in Paris

The" Kars for Kids" ad, the absolutely worst ad of all times.

David Cavan , Feb 11, 2012; 10:35 a.m.

Any "we'll save you from the IRS" ad - and it's that time of year again.
