Hi Hin
since you like to see the lighting setup I use at the moment for food closeups I show you here an example of a fennel Garam Masala soup I cooked and photographed some minutes ago. I'm just prepairing myself for the real shooting in 3 days and got some pleasant, Sushi matching backgrounds from a second hand store yesterday. I used the Pentax K-5 with Pentax-A 100mm macro F2.8 on the monopod and AF280T flash in manual mode as trigger for the slave AF500FTZ , also in full manual mode, at ISO 80, F6.3 1/40 seconds. The white reflector should have been a bit closer to the food, but this was a 1 minute setup and the soup was not only delicious but also still warm after the shooting to eat :-)

Fennel soup with Garam Masala, I used the gold side of the reflector fabric on the right for this shot to warm it up.

I replaced the reflecting golden/white fabric to the right with a black fabric for some edges in the glasses, the rest of the lighting setup is unchanged.
Kiwi & banana & almonds & ricemilk - a vegan powerdrink

There must be more to the soup than just water (or another liquid) and garam masala. Was there not anything more, Markus?

Parv, the soup consisted mainly of fennel but could also be made with other vegetables. I added a small potatoe, a bit of onion and garlic, half ricemilk, half water, olive oil for the roasting, salt, sojasauce, garam masala. Cooked it lightly for around 30 minutes and mixed afterwards, it could be made thicker with oat cream.

Mise en place for a scrambled egg replacement with silk tofu and lots of ingredients, enjoy :-)

Marcus, thank you for the setup picture. I like the picture of the Kiwi, Banana and almond drink the most. The shot looks tasty.

There's something about the color chartreuse that kills my appetite. Sorry, I guess I saw too much of it growing up in the 50s.
