Fantastic photos

Easily the best featured portfolio I've seen. Congratulations on such a stunning body of work. Lovely, lovely images.

Gavin Berg , July 27, 2005; 04:02 P.M.

It is obvious why they gave you the feature portfolio, instead of a photo of the week. It would have been much to hard to choose just one picture for photo of the week. All of your images are fantastic!!! keep up the amazing work!!!

arny raedts , July 27, 2005; 06:29 P.M.

Stoked!

Why did it took them this long to get your portfolio Adore your work and you should get a pullitzer or something for this kind of (sports)photography!!!!!

Cathy Scholl , July 27, 2005; 06:39 P.M.

I am a surfer

David, Firstly well done! I have seen and commented on your photo's here before. I was so happy to see you on the front page, well deserved, and about time! My surfing time now is not much. I have a bad back and 2 kids (12 & 7) and a mortgage to pay so I can't get into the water as much as I used to. Your images remind me of paddling out and hooting my mates as they pulled into the tube, cutback, or re-entried off the top with a glowing sunrise as a backdrop. Thats what I love about your photo's, as a surfer this is what you see. Not many photographers can bring that feeling into thier images. You can! For that I thank you.

Janet Cull - Western NC , July 30, 2005; 05:34 P.M.

Really unbelievable and fantastic! My husband and friend are enjoying these over my shoulder, as I am. Thanks for featuring this fellow!

Jean-Philippe Allard , August 02, 2005; 09:10 P.M.

Can't comment on each shot, as each is unique and fantastic. As an aspiring sports shooter, I'd really appreciate if you'd drop in my portfolio sometimes, even with all the coverage you are getting right now, I know how to be patient!

All the 7/7s that I didn't give before, I'd give em all to you if I could!

Toby Hicks , August 03, 2005; 11:53 A.M.

Excellent Work

Well, now I must be the 100-something comment on this page and it must seem boring to you by now. But... YOU HAVE SOME EXCELLENT PHOTOS! Congratulations and keep up the good work. Out of curiousity: Out of how many photos is this a selection of? See you around.

Michael Nigro , August 04, 2005; 05:51 P.M.

Fantastic

You to have spold much time in water in order to make these fantastic photos . Which Housing do you uses? The Aquatech for Canon 650?

Giuseppe Repetto , August 25, 2005; 10:05 A.M.

Second

Inside the wave

I realize photo from the water for the surfing and know the difficulties in order to realize beautiful photos. Those taken give behind are most difficult, why is risked to follow the lip of the wave. As written before are fantastic. From a Surf photography. www.photorepetto.com

Geez...

Well, these pictures are breathtaking when looking at them one by one. But seing them collected in the same page, in such a beutiful sequence, makes them even more powerful, absolutely overwhelming.

Anthony J Howe , August 31, 2005; 01:00 A.M.

absolutely stunning

Your Portfolio David is outstanding. Very professional. Colour, composition, action absolutely perfect. You are indeed an excellent professional photographer.

Mark Skelly , September 05, 2005; 07:34 P.M.

David, allow me to be the first to comment favorably to your photos here. ;-)

I have a few questions for you. When you are shooting these wide angle close-ups, are you on a surfboard as well? If so, are you standing or lying down? How are you balancing during all this, and not either falling over or getting run over by your subjects?

I'm just curious. I do not forsee myself doing anything even remotely like this anytime soon.

Cheers, Mark

Elgin Blankwater , September 11, 2005; 11:53 A.M.

Grandiose

Those are fantastic photos you've made! Wander how your cameras resisted all the water ;-)

sweet bra!

your the man troyer, jonesy has nothing, hahaha

Jon Marsden , September 16, 2005; 05:11 P.M.

Speechless

Every so often, you see an image that takes your breath away; today I saw several. I am unsure whether to be inspired or simply recognise my comparative inadequacy and give up now.

Chris Waller , September 17, 2005; 02:23 A.M.

I am astounded that you manage to take a photograph inside the tube. Presumably you too are on a surfboard, so how do you manage to surf and shoot simultaneously?

Filippo Galluzzi , September 21, 2005; 03:36 P.M.

No Word!!

.......No word for your travel! Very Very compliments!

Wow David your water photography is stunning! Excellent shots! I know what you go through to get each shot....every time a risk of being walloped with a board or some fins! Ouch! Enjoyed looking at your work!

Angeline Gilliam , October 21, 2006; 05:29 A.M.

Wow

These photographs are outstanding. I feel like I'm in the barrel with these guys. Your totally showing a new perspective in surfing. You could have water droplets or whatever on your lens and I would still like these photographs. Awesome job dude. Keep up the good work.

Sick images..inspirational just doesn't cut it. Your style reminds me of some of Scott Aichner's work. Heh it looks like you were probably curbstomped by the lip in one of the first tube-shots. I hope I get that good dude...

Nick Dekker , March 23, 2007; 11:51 A.M.

Hello Friend!

Well here it is another year is passing away and we are coming into the holidays. I think time starts to go faster as we get older, it was just yesterday I wished my friends Happy Holidays and here it is again the end of a year. The holiday lights are starting to be put on some of the trees here in Dallas, we were out last night and some were lighting the trees. I wish for you all a holiday season with family and friends, after all is said and done all we have is each other.

I want all of you to know just what your comments and ratings on my work means to me, your words are my motivation, my drive to discover, to learn this art that we all love, thank you for taking time and thank you for caring about my works. At the same time thank you for letting us see your world, our lives are so much the same, we all care about our families and friends and we all share the same things, maybe someday our photos will help make for a lasting world peace. May you and your family be blessed this season.

Happy Holidays and Happy Shooting

Ken
