I do not agree this urban shots are lifeless. I am trying to speak about people without showing them. Just their everyday life some people may forget. Use your imagination, as I did...

You use your camera like a paintbrush. Many of your best works look as much like paintings as photographs -- I love that. Your eye for composition and, especially, colors (!) is magnificent. Lifeless?? Absurd statement: how can anyone miss the life bursting just behind or beside each of these photos? You portray a lovely world -- I want to walk these streets!

This magnificent portfolio is an endless cascade of Colour as sculptured by Time. You have a great eye for detail, colour and composition. Door and window frame details of old houses are one of my favourite subjects and I think I have found a master here! Excellent work! Regards

Thank you for the critique you made on my recent photo of ivy on a brick wall. That led me to your portfolio and I must say that it is a very impressive body of work. I have always been fond of architectural detail shots and the whole travel photo genre. In viewing the slide show I felt like I had just taken a mini vacation to parts of the world I may never get to see personally. I look forward to seeing more of your work as time goes by.

Excellent Portfolio. I must admit that I first though that you were obsessed with windows and doors (not that it would be bad to have a complete portfolio concentrated on a single subjet).
You images are crisp and clear, beautfully composed and rich in color. You should be very proud of your images. Thanks for rating one of my images too.

As a matter of fact, I am "obsessed" by colors... Almost three years ago, mostly by chance, I became a simple user (and soon after, a member of the club) of a Bulgarian photo site, and I was wondering, just for a while, how to attract the attention of the other users (they were about 10 000) and I started with Venetian gondolas (there is no doubt than this subject goes well and everywhere, provided most of the regular users are just romantic ones). After that, I passed to red houses, bicycles, pigeons in love, love graffiti, peeling rust... Most of my fame there came from a long cycle called "The Wings of Desire" (male and female hints in alienated cityscapes). After that, I went to my real passions, or colors, and showed another series, called "Red points: Winter errancies in Paris". It worked also well. I tried to change a little, and proposed lately some fish and green grocery markets scenes, but romantic people felt offended by these mean subjects (despite photography is a middle-brow art, according to Pierre Bourdieu), although they were really appreciated by designers who proposed to me to sell them as stock photography. I had anyway to cut it immediately. Finally, I understood that kitsch is more welcome that anything else, and started this blue windows and shutters series, calling it "Blue dreams". In our country, blue was also associated to our brand-new democracy feelings, after the long red dream of the communist era. At the beginning of this Happy New Year 2008, I was finally evicted (or rather kicked off) from the site in question, because, rumor has that it was for that, my attitudes towards kitsch were quite harsh for the public. My profile was concealed (I mean hidden from the public), even from me (I do not know if it was - or not - against the copyright law) together with all my comments. It's difficult to fight everyday kitsch by... elegant kitsch... Anyway. So, I'm trying to transfer one part of my work that was showed there here. Unfortunately, I lose all my annotations, which were known there as "The Tales of Lalinda".

I think, anyway, this work (I am really proud of it, why not :-)), despite I could not show my other beloved subjects like chairs, for example, and all the other colors and color combinations abounding in my archive) can be seen here and that no people thinking of it as of photography and framing shall be offended. Thank you for your understanding and interest. Excuse me for my approximate "international English", it is my... fourth language.

Long live the colors! I'm still feeling enthusiastic over finding color friends and mates here!

I like your portfolio a lot...can't wait to see more....I love doors and windows and the lighting and natural colors and contrast in all of your photos is excellent....I like to take photos like you, all natural, but occasionally I like to use HDR, and vivid photoshop techniques...keep up the good work!

Hello, Elena, it is too bad that you have such huge amount of photos in one single folder so I never managed to view them all, the server or whatever quitting before displaying them all! ... you evoke the people with the objects, whether they are soldiers with your "Farewell to Arms" folder, a child (or perhaps a childhood) in the "Pavanne", the people behind the doors and shutters. Your pictures show the life as a reflection, perhaps, and they anything but lifeless. There is a feeling that you infiltrate life, like a mist. In my imagination, we would never hear your footsteps.

Hi Elena, Yes what is it about those blue doors? My eye is always drawn to them. Yesterday I saw two purple doors each propped open next to each other and I really wanted to get a shot of them.
