Well Gerry welcome to PN.  Although you are new to PN but I think you have a broad knowledge of shooting and editing pictures.  I like how you composed HDR pictures.  Hope to see more of your collections.. Nelson

This is one of my favourite portfolios. The composition of your shots is excellent, as is your post processing. I am very familiar with the locations of your pictures, St. Annes, Southport, Blackpool, York and Salford Quays which is about 1 mile from my home. I have taken photos in all these places but none as good as these. Well done! Regards.

Beautiful Images

Hi Jacqueline.

Beautiful Images. They all make you want to stop and look at them individually which is what it's all about, something that grabs your attention instead of just skimming over them. When an image can do that, then it's worked.

Best Regards
George Seymour

Jeff Bryce , December 15, 2013; 11:50 A.M.

I see why Stephen and Alain believe it is HDR. The image lacks shadows and appears unnatural. I have never used Nik Software but I have read about it. One of the programs called "HDR Efex Pro 2" works on a single image to recover lost highlights, open shadows, and adjust tonality. So end images tend to be more artistic representations than natural. Like this one, which has parts that seem like an ink drawing to me. Clearly, many people like this effect as the artist seems to have a certain "style". But, as with many software programs (and especially new programs), users should take care that effects aren't overdone as they can quickly become trite. I'm saying this more as a general statement, and not necessarily aimed towards this image or artist. Regards, Jeff

Jacqueline,
I truly enjoy your photography. I have rated many of your images and, I believe, from time to time, have left encouraging, if not critical comments. However, I no longer rate or comment on your images because I feel you give very little back to the PN community when compared with what you get. Best of luck with your ongoing efforts to enhance and develop your skills. If I am missing something, please correct my impressions. Jim

Good Stuff Here

I love your versatility and vision. You approach your subjects with great respect and a sense of wonder, whether it is an owl about to fly or a leather worker in his shop. Someone said that you, "outdid Norman Rockwell," and I agree, except that you seem to also have a touch of Salvador Dali lurking about as well. Good work. I look forward to seeing more.
