Liquid Gold

The late afternoon sun was shining on the rock faces that were being reflected in this runoff near Mirror Lake in Yosemite Valley. Using the tree to add more interest and contrast, the reflections just glowed and made for for an interesting image.

Gorgeous golds alright Leo! Well seen and expertly photographed guy! The intense golds give this a very surreal look.

All the best,
Neil

Leo

I remember when you showed me this shot on your LCD screen.  I knew you had captured something really good but this is a lot better than good! Its more like " Liquid Gold " so to speak.  Kudos on a fantastic processing job.  Good on you Amigo!

Leo,  Merced, this is fabulous. You have captured motion, color, and texture with artistry.  Have you seen any of Michael Frye's work on Yosemite?  He has at least one similar image.  You can Google him or find him at Michael Frye.com    Congratulations on near perfection.   Larry

Larry

Larry, funny you should mention Michael Frye, as he had a exhibition of his work at the Ansel Adams Gallery when we were in Yosemite. In fact, Ray Banfield had just given me his book on photographing Yosemite and suggested that we see his exhibition at the AA Gallery. After viewing the water images that had this similar effect I decided to give it a try on this image. You have a eagle eye and a knowledge of your contemporary photographers.

Outstanding composition.....adding the diagonal tree trunk was brilliant.  The lighting is amazing......love the golds.  A really beauty!  Would be stunning larger!

Leo

It was a great exhibition of some of Michael's great photographs we saw at Ansel's Gallery in Yosmite. I can understand Larry's noticing the similarity between yours and Michael's.  I prefer yours though because of your composition and the fact that keeping those solid objects ( rocks, logs, etc) gives the photograph more definition and reality..Nice Leo, really nice!
