Pretty Spiffy

This is a lovely half still life, half abstract photograph. And it has what any photograph that is better than okay almost always has to have--some teensy details to stare at. In this case, the insides of the water drops, which the photographer wisely presents in sharp focus. Very nice.

Cool

I like the color and the use of water droplets.

Sam Furlong , February 28, 2001; 05:15 A.M.

Impressive

Very impressive indeed. I am sure the author will know how difficult it can be to produce good close ups.

Leif Rudd , March 11, 2001; 02:52 A.M.

Impressive macro. I hope that the new macro lens I just bought will give me some practice toward doing nice work like this.

Life is 99% water even...

Your photo makes me understand that the fact life is 99% water is something very possible, even aesthetically. Excellent!

PS: I don't score photos because not comfortable with the two criteria, so I'm adding only comments.

I'm not usually attracted to color nature photography but this image shows much maturity and I appreciate it.

I like the water drops. Are they real? Or they were putting on using Photoshop like software.

Philip Harle , July 13, 2001; 12:47 P.M.

This is an absolutely wonderful photograph - truly stunning. It's by far my favourite of the photos in your folder - I think maybe I'm a "black and white" sort of person and there is too much colour for my eye in most of your shots! This one, though, would work beautifully as a black and white and as it is is fairly monochromatic.

Bea-uty

As the Title says, it is a beauty. How'd you get the water drops so perfect? No I see what great pictures macros take, I gotta learn how to use mine!!

Gerry Siegel (Honolulu) , August 09, 2001; 02:07 A.M.

Hi. I think what I like best is that this is clearly a really close shot with a macro plus diopter and could have been a fuzzy wuzzy like lots of macro at this ratio. But by using the flower and the leaf as a stage background and proscenium for the drops, like two actors gliding on stage, I think really makes this. And, as mentioned, once the eye is drawin in, I get to examine the crystalline, lenticular, fish- eye "worlds" inside each droplet. An image I would be pleased to see on my wall to enjoy. ( no rating, cuz I dont do them) Thanks for the opportunity to critique Tears.

At the risk of being repetitive.. Wow!! Super imaganative shot!!! Great color and one of my favorite macro shots!

Andrea Garza , February 28, 2002; 11:24 P.M.

I didnt notice it at first, then I thought it was an eye, but in the right hand droplet if you look closely you can make out the camera lens and the writing on it. Talk about focus and sharpness!!

Andreas Babik , March 03, 2002; 02:02 A.M.

Sorry Andrea :-(

It`s no camera and lens in right drop. This is the grass - it looks like a lens, but isn`t it. ... Regards

Andrea Garza , March 12, 2002; 10:21 P.M.

Ah, I stand corrected, guess I need to put on the ol' spectacles! Great photo though...very nice.
