Strong black and white image. The bush is a nice very graphic foreground. You could consider cropping a little bit from the bottom.

croped X-2
If you crop it it will realy give it a differnt view. So it depends on what look you are going for. Personaly i would and i would do it 2 differnt ways. I cant say how but i can send you what i am talking about. It realy gives it a differnt look.

Very good
I really like this image. I personaly would probably not crop this image, if I were to, I might take some of the rocks in the near foreground, and definently keep the sky as is.

Stunning image. It might be improved if there were a little more separtion between the foreground and the ground below. Still a powerful image.

Duane, I like both of your crops! I didn't have the stones to get any closer at the time, the wind was blowing 20 mph and it blew the camera over once.

Love the contrasting textures you've assembled here.

Great B&W landscape. Nice use of the bush in the foreground.
Bert Armijo , April 11, 2003; 12:23 P.M.
Excellent image. I like the strong foreground and that there's just a hunt of the blufs far in the distance.

nit picking
It really is a busy scene but anyone that has been out there knows that's how it is. I think it's a great shot and as far as cropping I would only take a little off the bottom and the left side. Great depth of field and you couldn't ask for a better sky that day!

Green River Overlook
A very nice image and effective in B&W. I like it as is but could play with a little crop bottom and ? left. Greatjob. Would love to see this enlarged carefully to view all the detail of the 4x5.

Great one! Like most here, I particularly like the use of the foreground...

Cropping
Given the type of equipment used, I think the photographer framed and shot exactly what he/she wanted to show. A lot of effort goes into these types of shots. Technically excellent, I would crop it...lol..Just kidding

It is true that I did frame this the best at the time. The conditions were pretty windy (as stated previously). If I had used a larger lens then the vista certainly would have been different.

Few people visit the vastness of Canyonlands. What a great shot!

Excellent - very powerful and unique, even in such a frequently-photographed location.

I don't know about the crop. By cropping this shot, you could control where the viewer's eye goes. But I really like all of the elements in this view. The sky is exciting, the tree adds important foreground, and the rocks on either side practically frame the shot. Nice!!
Charles Miller , April 26, 2003; 06:52 P.M.
Perhaps a little dust or haze obscures distant detail, other wise near perfect

Wow! I thought this was water until I realized the canyons were actually canyons. Very interesting shot.

A good look at a real place
Maybe a tighter crop would make it better art, but a it is, its really that spot with the paradox of textures under your feet and views just beyond the grasp of human depth perception. How much to own a copy?

Beautiful darks and lights.
