Dmitry Gringauz , May 13, 2003; 07:18 P.M.

You can almost feel the heat. Excellent!

James Vincent Knowles , May 13, 2003; 10:17 P.M.

WHAT'S...

Black & White and Red all over? (The New York Times ; )

Looking at the thumb, this appeared to be a person walking on the desert floor in a red cape. Now it looks a little like a woman covered by a red cloth as she kneels and bends backwards ... except where's her head?

EYE catching B&W graphic with wonderful rough texture and floating splash of red! Totally groovin' on the abstract nature of this image.

Igor Amelkovich , May 13, 2003; 10:22 P.M.

Mystical!!!

Paolo De Maio , May 14, 2003; 01:38 A.M.

Fabrizio Jacoangeli , May 14, 2003; 02:41 A.M.

Abstract and symbolic, great composition.

Richard van Hoesel , May 14, 2003; 03:57 A.M.

Spooky stuff Yuri. Keep changing my mind about whether I find the figure placed slightly too far to the right or whether it nicely adds tension, but strong imagery either way.

Jacques Henry , May 14, 2003; 08:35 A.M.

One Frozen Margarita pleeeeease!

tom trip , May 14, 2003; 10:05 P.M.

Great shot

Arash Jayhun , May 15, 2003; 10:06 A.M.

A very strange shot that gives me a strange feeling!

Mark Johnson , May 15, 2003; 10:26 A.M.

Weird. Aside from the great colour, it's so hard to figure out what's going on under the red fabric. Looks like a horribly distorted body under there, but what happened to the head? Is this two shots combined in Photoshop? Anyway, it's bizarre and I love it.

Sean Driver , May 15, 2003; 12:01 P.M.

Lovely composition and great use of colour.

Ri©k Vincent , May 15, 2003; 12:06 P.M.

Marc G. , June 19, 2003; 03:41 A.M.

Here I havea problem with the angle and the composition. I prefered the vertical ones by far. Also, the coloring truly annoys me in this one. Regards.

Yuri Bond , June 20, 2003; 04:19 A.M.

I agree with marc

Kev Thompson , June 28, 2003; 03:40 A.M.

7/7

Great! Just love the composition with the red for contrast!

Anders Hingel , April 05, 2006; 04:29 P.M.

No question about it, this is an outstanding photo that deserves its audience (seen almost half a million times !) and its high ratings, but does it deserve 60 times 7/7 ? ? I see without difficulty the quality of the photo but for me a 7/7 tells me that it is perfect, that nothing could have been done better. I'm not sure (I'm therefore a 6/6 guy in this case)

For me the angle to the ground could be questioned. I (with all modesty I'm not at the level of a Yuri Bonder, I know) would personally have decreased the angle to the ground slightly so that the person were given some height and not only, as now, in my eyes, a red space providing contrast to the dry earth. There is a blue version of the scene in Yuri's portfolio that I think has the same "problem". My comment does of course not take anything away from the fact that Yuri is a great photographer, one of the best and most creative artist on Photonet.
