Is this in the Alps? If so where? I take it there is a town below the mountain lighting it, but the color of the light is throwing me off.

I didn't see the stars in the thumbnail, but it's a striking composition where light is a very important factor.  I, too, am wondering how the mountain and cloud were illuminated; they are nicely set against the black of the night sky.  I hope you will explain the photograph to us.
