Ooohhh

I like this one. Beatiful and smart (as opposed to smut). The contrasty hand directs your attention immediately and then your eyes shift slowly down... Good choice of white shorts too, blend in nicely with the background. Excellent picture! Good caption too.

Tom Wilczynski , September 04, 2003; 02:51 P.M.

Oh yeah...

... but the image is too big. Medium size should fit the whole of the image in on a single page.

I WANT IT B I I I I I G !!! :)

Steve J Murray , September 04, 2003; 03:25 P.M.

Love it! Very evocative. I have a technical question: why TMax 400 as opposed to HP5 plus? I shoot some 120 as well and I'm experimenting with different films.

Chris Blaszczyk , September 04, 2003; 04:00 P.M.

Tmax400 has a huge film amplitude. You can literally record up to 10 stops on your film. With high key it gets much easier to do this if you use slow developing process.

Frank Thomas , September 04, 2003; 04:05 P.M.

Super!

I really like it and I like it big like it is. Big makes you feel like your there where the camera is which is what I try to so with any image I create. I want to make you feel like you are there. At first I didn't like the tonality. Too washed out or something. But it quickly grew on me and took on a sort of elegance and sophistication. Don't change a thing.

Massimo Innocenti , September 04, 2003; 06:51 P.M.

wonderful places!!!

nice idea and the up exposure is amazing, like a dream

John Vo , September 04, 2003; 09:08 P.M.

Interesting composition and point of view. I believe it would look better with the models head somehow shown in the picture. Clearly (or is it?) the model is female, but I would have liked to see a bit of her face. Overall good picture.

Jan Frosik , September 05, 2003; 02:49 P.M.

7/7

I have given only a few 7/7's .. This is treuly amazing work. Reminds me grealty of the art of Hajime Sorayama. He works in paints . .this in Film ..

John Robinson , September 06, 2003; 05:25 A.M.

Real Good!

I rarely give 7's, but you got two of them! How about giving some hints to your lighting set up ? That would be appreciated! Good work!

Chris Blaszczyk , September 06, 2003; 08:39 A.M.

Setup

I used one lightbox slightly to the left of the camera and much higher if I remeber correctly and overexposed the film by one or two stops. The backdrop was a wall in a bedroom of my friend's house during a party.

Geert Vanden Wijngaert , September 06, 2003; 11:47 A.M.

Hey Chris, I already noticed this pic yesterday but I never thought this would be a Blaszczyk ( I was not reading the name). It's totally different than your other work here. Light instead of dark and there's no face in the pic. Great angle, a real teaser for those who take the time to look. Is this your catpic you where telling about ;-) Best Geert

Chris Blaszczyk , September 06, 2003; 12:10 P.M.

Geert

Not, it is not. I am still looking for the other one... :)

Bravo 7/7

Super angle. wowwww really very impressive angle.Well seen, good idea.Cong...

Stephen Solomon , April 30, 2009; 10:14 P.M.

Great exercise in vanishing point composition. Can't tell for sure, but it looks like you removed part of her head purposely. Taught energy and simplistic, captivating subject matter. Along with my camera, I must make a point to bring my lighting set up to the next party!
