Loft & Jack, thanks for your super quick ratings. Glad you stopped by. Jack you know you may be right. This was taken at an angle and on a steep hillside looking over the church and valley. I thought I'd got it about right, but I'll take another look. Thanks guys.

I am not religious so I can´t really read into anything, if there is anything you are trying to say with this picture but it looks really good.
I assume this is a composite, not unless you were exceptionally lucky to get this lightning striking the church like that but in my opinion it´s composed very well. It looks to me like the cover of a horror story book.
Anyway, love the colour, purple really makes this work and the mood of the whole picture is great.

Larus, thank you for your comment. No it is not meant to have any underlying religious message. I drove past the building a few days ago and thought it looked menacing and unusual. I went back yesterday to shoot it and give it a sinister effect. The lightning composition was aded at the last moment. I quite like the image without it. However the nightmare or horror story theme seemed to work. Thanks for your comment. Regards Paul...

You did a great job with the PS. I couldn't do this. I am learning but then in paint shop. Just like the picture before, I love the toning of the color, and the magic.

toning is pleasant. I like it quite a bit. I know it would seem off to have the lightning strike something that isnt the highest point but going thru the window would cause a whole 'nother response and interpretation. Of course then the lower branch would need to be worked a little too.
Again, I find my eyes going a bit green with envy.

I love this image, but I'm estonished of your technical details : f4.5 @1/1000 at ISO 100 ?
If those parameters are corrects, you're very lucky to get the lighting and I like this image more...
Paul David Athey , June 25, 2004; 04:13 A.M.
Thanks Mike - this is a composite of two image. The technical details are for the tree and church part of the photograph. Regards Paul.
