I like the irony. Here is a gate shutting out what appears to be nothing special. The chainlink is covered to exclude viewers and the barbed wire deters intruders, and yet the gate is open and the sun casts a warm glow on the walls. It's not attractive, but it is, in a sense, inviting the curious to wonder what's behind the door at the end of the alley. I've always been curious to know what's beyond my view.
