It's much better after the rain is gone... Beautiful and mesmerizing.

These images are beautiful. I love the texture your manipulation adds to these.

Outstanding! Your textures and painting effects are the best. Great shot.

Very Nice!
I agree with the comments about what you do with such images, but for me, it's your model's clear gaze and eye contect with the viewer that makes this image so powerful.

Lovely. You do get expressions from this model that are staggeringly direct and complex. Add the light on her face to the reddish wash on the left wall, and you get something that is distinctly your work.

This

It all nice
I'd just make one minor adjustment: I would add a touch of blue to the eyes and really make them pop, and thus give yourself some complimentary color to the yellow to spicen the image up even further. Excellent job as is though.

Funny you mention that because I do have one slightly colorized version of this with her eyes bluer but there was a problem. I did not find the image being in harmony after I made her eyes pop more. I guess as you can see everything has a yellowish feel to it and since I changed the tonality of her skin the blue eyes did not belong.

sample
sample in effect only
Hopefully, this quickly worked sample will be posted. As I was working it, I notice your larger image, by the way, is REALLY NICE.
Notice the effect of how your eye now scans and stops at more places around the scene, even if it's only for a second here and a second there. It really adds places for the eye to 'get excited about'.

Close up of worked areas. Again, you would perfect these to your own liking, but the effect works, don't you think?

I'm just an observer, but even though I see what you're aiming for I don't think it works. I find the blue discordant; by making the eye dart around to the blue spots, the overall effect of the photo is diminished; the blue calls too much attention to itself. The blue eyes strike me as especially out of place.
For me, Haleh's color shots like this are effective because their aesthetic principle of a muted, harmonic tapestry of colors establishes a blend that plays against the emotionally-laden facial expressions of this model, with light used to contrast the face with the background. Ultimately color here has to be quite subtle to work best. At least that's how I see Haleh's work.
Just my point of view. No offense meant to anybody.

it's ok
Mark, we are all 'just observers'. The blue I've added, and some green to compliment the reds, is overdone if your eye is grabbed to strongly. I posted it to show how the eye does jump around and search out more 'information' than before. The artist is to apply the technique to their own liking. My post is a bit overdone just to show how it works. In reality, I'd tone them down quite a bit. If I did not make them slightly overdone, the viewer might not notice any changes at all. I do believe the right amount is somewhere in between the original and my rendion.

When ligting has an important funtion.
However does it take away its magic?
Of course, not. It adds a lot to this portrait, in fact.
A very well done choice of colors where the light plays an impotartant part, maybe the most important at all.
Cheers.

Michael, I am not sure about your version. I think it represents a different mood. I could see your version in a night club where is dim and loud. This was taken in a lonely hotel room near a window after rain. I chose to keep the picture on the wall for the authenticity factor.

Great ! Nothing to say, an exceptional picture.
John Falkenstine , February 20, 2005; 06:02 P.M.
I like the composition, but it needs better depth of field and some exposure tweaking to avoid such issues as the girls cheek starting to blend in with the wall behind her. Perhaps slightly different lighting. It might even be more interesting if she was shown in her entirety instead of being cut off at the waist.

This is such a smooth relaxing portrait.......why add the jolting fakery of the blue eyes? That is way too much. Excellent as it is.

I also like the original best. I find the blue kills the overall mood of the picture and draws too much attention only to the eyes. I would leave excellence alone!
