It is nice to see a photo like this one thing that is uncomfortable for the eye or (brain!) is the sharpness of the top of the photo and the very blur in the bottom if it was mine I would reduce one of two. this is my comment, thanks

I like very much the composition, the reduced zone of sharpness, and particularly the softness and the delicacy of this image.
Great great picture ! BRAVO !

Very nice work. I think that the portrait work in particular is may be not very innovative but done with passion.

Very nice image! I really like the idea. If I were to change anything, I would crop it just above the mouth and nose.

7/7 For sure
Did you blur the lower portion of the image or is it aperture induced? It would be nice to see a slightly sharper version of the photograph if available, simply to judge the difference. Nevertheless, this is a beautiful and touching photograph.

Originality
I'm afraid too many times it is easy to confuse originality with uniqueness of a photo. Every photo is like a snow flake; but once you've seen a couple hundred flakes, "originality" is lost and only individuality or uniqueness is left.
We've been taking pictures at least 150 years and today with everyone being able to afford a digi camera and making their own versions of pre-existing ideas, originality is hard to come by.
All that to say . . . Not having seen all the images taken by professional photographers in studios, to me, this image climbs off the unique shelf and up to originality. I see no reason to sharpen any part or soften any part. Why you've even incorporated the Rule of Thirds in this long, tall image. Another thing I like is the curve of the mouth compliments that of the eye. It is almost as if the mouth is a shadow of the eye. (I know. They say I'm crazy. But I KNOW I'm not, lol.)

A wonderful wide-aperture shot!
Beautiful and atmospheric. Don't listen to the crazy people who want it cropped or "less blurry." It's deliberate and gorgeous. Thank you.

in my opinion it's too much vertical the cut of the image, better to have more white space on the right.
but it's a great image.... the high key is really fantastic.....
